Hey there guys! *waves shyly* so hum, I'm going on a trip to NewYork with a buddy of mine in 2 weeks, and I've started to freak out a little. We'll be staying on the 47th street right next to Broadway, and I seriously have no idea what we're gonna do there. 8D... so huh, anyone wants to give me some advice on how to spend an awesome weekend in NY is super mega extra welcomed! XD;
So.. okay, I've been wondering about that for a long while now, and *
ktshy 's latest journal about this... anime doujinka festival just got me wondering even more so HERE I AM ASKING MY QUESTION.
..Where do people PRINT their doujinshis?? ... At the risk of sounding really stupid, isn't it like.. Illegal here? XD; I mean, hey, I'm all for selling doujinshis and all, and this isn't about .. legality or not, but I'm just wondering. I would think they'd... go to Lulu.com or something, but there is a strong policy about Fanwork so.. I guess it can't be there! .. and I suppose you can't really send it to a Pro printer either? ... so they do it at home?
Seriously, I'd really like to know! It eats at me at night D=
... ahahah yeah no , but im still really curious. So thanks to anyone who answers that!

I'm no expert, but there's always this list over at Onikimono that has some traditional and print-on-demand companies listed. Print-on-demand is usually cheaper, but people who have used Comixpress.com and Ka-blam.com may attest to the fact that their services are not always speedy. I've never printed with them, but a quick Google search brings up some compliments and some complaints.
Then again, you can always go to your local Kinkos and print yourself. I think they staple them there, too. Yay Kinkos. And there may be some local printers around you who would do this sort of stuff at a different price. Time for investigation, I suppose.

Hey, you! Yeah, you, the artist. You deserve an ORANGE.
as soon as you get there get a foldout map with a compas from one of the thousands of souvenere shops. one of those things saved my skin on numerous occasions.
then there's;
the empire state building (with an awsomely friendly comicbook store. next to it)
The museum of modern art.
midtown comics
Times square
the metrapolitan museum
the gugenheim museum
the museum of american folk art
the financial district which leads to chinatown, which leads to soho
theres a bunch of other stuff but thats all i could do in 6 days. with little to no rest.
wear sturdy or walking shooes. (unless you can afford cab everywhere)
